ANDY JENKINS kept on course for a spot in the Stan James World Matchplay finals with a run to the last eight at the Barnsley Metrodome.
In the quarter-finals he was narrowly defeated 6-5 by eventual winner Mark Walsh.
Rick Lowther, making his PDC debut had a good win over Dave Ladley before going down by 6-4 to second seed Alan Tabern in the last 64.
Arron Monk also reached the last 64 but was beaten 6-1 by Colin Osborne.
A second event of the weekend takes place at the same venue tomorrow.
