COLIN MONK reached the last 32 of the second of the 2009 UK Open Regional finals at the Magnum Centre Irvine but was pipped in the last leg by former World Champion Jelle Klaasen.
Andy Jenkins and James Wade fell at the same hurdle, to Terry Jenkins and Mark Walsh.
Ricky Williams and Ian Jopling picked up £200 each by reaching the last 64 before losing to Adrian Lewis and Steve Maish.
Ian Eames, Arron Monk and Danny Pinhorne were each early casualties.
Robert Thorton defeated Dennis Priestley in the final for the second day running.
